Educational consultancies in Kathmandu

A consultancy listed in the Ministry of Education's registry has filed its paperwork with the government — 21 of the Kathmandu offices here have. It is a floor, not a recommendation: it says the business is registered to do this work, not that it did it well for the student before you.

An office that files ten Australian applications a week knows that visa officer's habits. The same office may be filing its first application to Germany. Ask how many students they sent to your country last year, and to which universities.

Service charge, test fees, translation and notarisation, courier, the university's application fee and the visa fee are usually separate lines. Ask for all of them on one page before paying anything, and ask what is refundable if the visa is refused.

Kathmandu has enough choice that you never have to accept the first counselling session you sit through. Compare what each one says about your grades and your budget — the honest office is usually the one willing to tell you something you did not want to hear.
